See you at LaPlata Mo

The La Plata Railcam is a wonderful resource. Especially in these times of social distancing. It was especially fun last week to watch Amtrak#3 (SouthWest Chief) pull into the station, and then 2 hornblasts and off it goes. The platform is lit at night, and there are crossing gates & lights, and the typical long, long, short, long horn to announce its arrival from the east.

It is a very well done site, with multiple hi-def cameras, and a scroll-back feature that lets you look to an index of the last 12 hours action. (I wish that the Rochelle site had similar high-end features, maybe someday.)

Having watched #3 leave town that afternoon, and then arrive in LaPlata that evening was very cool. And of course, if you hang around a bit more, freights typically follow, and two Intermodals did, within minutes. It is after all the high speed and busy "Transcon".

See you trackside at LaPlata!
